The 2009 International Symposium on Applied Computing and Computational Sciences (ACCS 2009) will be held on 24-26 April, 2009 in Sanya, Hainan Island, China. It provides three-day forum on the Computational Sciences and its Applications that are the basis for the Applied Computing. The theme of the plenary session is ¡°Recent Progress of Applied Computing and Computational Sciences¡± featuring invited speakers who will further explore this topic that is so significant for this fields. Concurrent sessions and a poster session will cover a wide range of topics and issues, including both contributed papers and special sessions/workshops developed on specific topics, all with a central focus of Applied Computing and Computational Sciences.

This symposium provides an idea-exchange and discussion platform for the world¡¯s researchers and academia, where internationally recognized researchers and practitioners share cutting-edge information, address the hottest issue in computational sciences and applications, explore new computational technologies, exchange and build upon new ideas. And meantime the symposium will also provide researchers and practitioners interested in new computational technologies an opportunity to highlight innovative research directions, and a growing number of novel applications.

About Sanya

Sanya is the southernmost city in Hainan province, China and has an estimated population of 485,004 (2006). After Haikou, it is the second most populous city of the island. Sanya is revered for its tropical climate and is a popular tourist destination, which is called as "Oriental Hawaii".

Sanya has some of the most beautiful and well-maintained stretches of sand not just in China but in southern Asia. The sand here is white, palm trees provide shelter from the sun and the sea is wonderfully blue and warm.

This is just about the only place in China with a really laid-back feeling and atmosphere. You could spend anything from a few days to a week or so here, soaking up the sun, relaxing and just enjoying the unique and relaxed ambience that dominates this place.
